Re: BCR-BCF driver under windows 7 x64

2009-12-04 by Robert Jonkman

A lack of driver for the BCR / BCF is really holding me back from moving to a x64 based system.

I think I came across a couple of other posts around about people having issues trying to connect both a BCR and BCF at the same time. Something about Windows 7 x64 only being able to recognize one (I don't really know for sure). The user said he could have either his BCR or his BCF working, but not both.

If that is the same problem that you're having, then I recommend connecting the BCR Via USB and just use MIDI cables to connect your BCF to the MIDI in and out on your BCR. I my experience, the BCF2000 never worked well in MCU emulation when connected via USB anyways.

I hope some other could share their experiences as I'd also like to install win7 soon.

I imagine BCFview would not function--that's too bad. Anyone?

Hi, everybody

I would be glad to hear about your experiences.
I want to use these two controllers under windows 7 x64.
First, i can't install last updated driver v1213 on this system. The installer says that this version of Windows is not supported. It seems to be a matter of 32bits driver that can't be installed on a x64 system.
However, my BCF is automatically recognized in Reaper and works fine with it in MCU mode, though i didn't install any driver for it. But my BCR can't be recognized at all. And i can't do anything about that.
Is it a matter of MCU or not MCU mode that can explain this ?
I heard some people say their BCRs are recognized automatically on a windows 7 x64.

Do any of you have ideas about what is really possible on such a system and what there is to be done to make both controllers work on my x64 W7 ?

Any help would be appreciated
