Actually, I have recently instaled a preset which emulates a mackie control on ableton live (I'm sure you know it, donwloaded from inet). Can't check right know bacause I'm not at home but I think resolution is set just like you mention here. The weird thing is that all enconders on top row are all equaly configured. You mean that ¨.resolution 96 96 96 96¨ would be the cause of the problem or I got it wrong? Anyway, if I rotate the encoder applying some force perpendicular to its shaft, it will work correctly. So, logic indicates it's a mechanical issue.
