Hi Nicolas > Ok, I have cleaned one of the encoders with contact cleaner. If this doesn't work, I will desolder the encoder and pray it has a code on it! They are either optical ( a light shining through holes in a disk) or more likely mechanical (a copper contact slides around copper tracks on a disk) . In either case it is likely they are dirty and just need cleaning. The worst case would be a broken disk but that only occurs with severe abuse. Or a worn disk , but that is very unlikely as well. Most likely a cup of coffee found its way down the shafts and a clean is all that is needed. Best of luck Royce
