Royce, just to let you know the end of the story:

Apparently they were just dirty!. They seem to work fine now.
I don't have the time to play around with it now, but I need to do a better evaluation so I can discard they are damaged.

So...thank you very much for your help with this issue.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
