Like you I also recently acquired a BCR, with the sole purpose of controlling my JX-3P and JX-8P, of which I just uploaded my templates. I tried the various editors and found the BC Manager to be the most flexible, especially if you have Sysex to program. It's not always the most logical program to work with, but once you find your way around it it allows you to do almost anything. A very good feature is that the copy/paste functionality is implemented very well, so you can test presets by copying them to a new program number without destroying the one that does it's thing already but just needs a little tweaking. File handling is a bit odd (for example: you can't import a sysex file directly to a "preset slot", but you can import it to a complete setup and then copy it to the preset slot you want). You can find it here: http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/bc2000/files/Applications/BC%20Manager/ A bit of a pain with programming the BCR for MIDI synths is that you have to switch between USB Mode 1 for programming and Standalone Mode 1 for testing all the time. Every time you switch to Standalone Mode, you have to restart the BC Manager 'cause it 'lost the connection' to the BCR. Fortunately there's a menu option that restarts the program. --- In bc2000@yahoogroups.com, "phono66050" <hautlle@...> wrote: > > Hello, I'm new to the group as well. I joined because I picked up a BCR and Tetra last week. Anton, I found your template on your page (discorockers, I assume you're the same Anton) through google. Nice to see you're here too =) Thanks so much for all your hard work in creating the template. One question: What is everyone using to load and edit templates? I tried the BCREdit program from Behringer, but it is still early beta and I got a timeout error every time I went to load the presets from my computer to the unit. >
