The latter explanation seems more likely. To test this, you may try to get the EXIT button to respond in other situations: For instance, while switching the BCR on (via the POWER button at the back), hold STORE and EXIT. The display should briefly show "Init" (immediately after "1.10", but before e.g. "P- 1"). Or: with the display showing e.g. "P- 1", hold EDIT, then press EXIT: the display should show "PAnC". (For more information on the above "commands", see sections 22 and 23 of "BC MIDI Implementation.pdf", available via http://home.kpn.nl/f2hmjvandenberg281/ .) For a thorough examination of all your buttons and encoders, you can run BC Manager's "Maintenance -> Test hardware" routine. (See BC Manager manual, pp 34-35.) Hope this helps, Mark.
