So for the purpose of proving my noobdom all I have to is hook midi out from jx to bcr hit learn on bcr and then change a paramater in jx and then turn a knob on bcr? then how do I save lol, sorry day one with this thing :)

The JX transmits parameter data over midi, so there is no need to do this with syssex.

How do I send them from the jx8p, and just to be safe, the jx8p only sends and receives sysex files...

Just enter the BCR's "learn" mode, and send the corresponding parameter data to the midi IN of the BCR, one at a time, until all the jx's parameters are "learned" by each knob on the BCR.
