Bc2000 (for the BCF2000 & BCR2000)

Hi guys!

I'm new to the forum. I've used 2 BCFs with Sonar in Mackie Mode and was quite happy so far. Now I'm thinking about extending to 3 BCFs + 1 BCR but need to do some research on what set-up options I would have.

Here my questions. I hope some of you find the time to comment.

(A) Would it be possible to re-create the Mackie mode functionality using the standard BCF preset mode (BC instead of McSo) by analysing each MIDI command and setting up the pre-set? The idea is to use the Mackie control surface in the DAW but customize some buttons later on (like swapping Solo and Select buttons, replacing transport buttons on the 2nd BCF with other key bindings) ... Any idea if that could work and what it would take? Anybody ever tried that?

(B) What does it take to write a custom COM(?) MIDI controller dll for a DAW like Sonar. I've read that some of you guys are doing it. I found some source code on the web (but a coule of years old, only for BCR and only 32bit). I've developed software in C++ and VB, but do not have any knowledge on the structure/interface of DAW DLLs.
