thank you for the useful info. Really helpfull. It seems that there is a specific issue here (xp 32bit) that disconnects midi out after 8th channel and hangs all control by pressing preset (fader bank group) buttons in a fuzzy way. Same behaviour with all midi driver different versions. The general idea is that it should work at least as you described. Something is messing up with midi or there is more or less a bug behind the scenes. The external midi interface looks like a possible solution, or a new setup/ or different machine.
