Bc2000 (for the BCF2000 & BCR2000)

Hi all! Just a quick question - could anyone help out? :) I've just 
bought a second BCF 2000, and am planning to get two more. The first BCF 
2000 controls channels 1-8 of my mixer in Cubase 7 under MAC OS X 
perfectly, using the mackie control mode. However, I can't get the 
second BCF to control channels 9-16... Connections are as follows: USB 
from Mac to BCF, midi from BCF 1 out to BCF 2 in, USB from BCF 2 to MAC. 
According to the manual, this should be correct! Any suggestions would 
be greatly appreciated!
