Re: Controlling a step sequencer with BCR 2000 & transposing

2013-08-19 by twobeelandscape

Hi htk

I'm interested in what you are trying to do because I was trying to set up a voice editor on the BCR2000 for the AN1x. Got overtaken by work, but it's there in the back of my mind as a project. If you make some progress with the step sequencer control, I might be inspired to push on with the voice editor and maybe they could be get together and make sweet music...

I'm really not much of an expert on what is possible with the BCR, neither am I clear what you are trying to achieve as regards transposition, but I just thought I would check the following: are you aware hat you can transpose any sequence on the AN1x from its keyboard? Pages 41 and 86 of the AN1x manual explain how to use keyboard modes (eg Select & Shift) to transpose running sequences by pressing keys above a designated split point. As the AN1x will presumably be pretty close to the BCR, isn't that a better (more musical) way to transpose sequences than trying to assign buttons on the BCR?

Sorry if I have misunderstood your aims, but I'm very interested to see how you get on.

Regards

Bill
