Hello all
This is my first real post so my apologies in advance if I go over anything redundant or that has already been addressed in earlier posts. I swear I used the search function :)
So I recently purchased a BCR2000 to use mainly in controlling my Roland Alpha Juno 2. I would also like to use it on Ableton. I have so far been unsuccessful in loading presets into the BCR2000.
I am using Windows 7 64-bit. I have made sure all the software, firmware and drivers are up-to-date. I have tired in USB and StandAlone modes. I have switched between USB3 and USB2. I'll explain the behaviors:
Ableton: after clicking “dump”, the controllers lights flash in a loop, a few rotary encoder knobs light up, and then “Er 22”. There is some communication between said rotary knobs, but nothing more. The knobs controls are not how Ableton claimed to have mapped it.
BCManager (thanks, Mark!!): When I send the PG3000 emulator preset I downloaded from this site, the dialogue box stops about an 8th of the way through and goes nowhere. No knobs are mapped.
MidiOX: when I send the aforementioned preset, the knobs seem to be mapping, but then “Er 22” appears and nothing.
I am in contact with Behringer who have so far claimed maybe the BCR map is corrupt.
Has anything similar happened to anybody here for which they found a solution outside the attempts I've already made?
Second issue: The main reason I bought the BCR was, like I said, to control my Juno. I was hoping to open it up using all those knobs. I was also hoping to have an easy way of sending the patches I create to the Juno without having to save on the synth itself. Then I realized that maybe that's not what the BCManager is for; that it's for loading presets rather then patches. Can anyone confirm this?
For those using Alpha Junos, how do you save and recall your personal patches? Maybe that would go for everyone using the BCR to control any synth: do you use BCManager or MidiOX or whatever to save and recall patches? Or some other method?
Thanks again in advance for your help. Again, I apologize if I've gone over anything already covered. I tried really hard to search for some kind of solution.
Best,
Michael
