SYX on M6 (and 6R) is slightly different from M1000. On M6 (and 6R), pressing panel buttons in PATCH EDIT mode and processing Remote Parameter Edit SYX commands share the same code base in firmware. Parameter editing only works in PATCH EDIT mode, so for remote editing, you have to mimic switching to PATCH EDIT mode. This is what the SYX command opcode = 5 (Select Quick Patch Edit) is for. So you simply send
$F0 $10 $06 $05 $F7
and then you can start sending parameter change commands. I think just one Select Quick Patch Edit is enough, but I don't have hardware to test this.
