The error message indicates that the first message in the file contains a model identifier that doesn't match the device that is currently selected in BC Manager's B-Controls window.
So my guess is that the "BCF2000" line was selected (highlighted) in the "B-Controls" window when you executed File -> Open from the menu.
The remedy: select the "BCR2000" line, then run Open.
(If you don't have a BCF, you can delete the BCF2000 line from the menu via B-Control -> Close selected.)
