thanks for the replies. to clarify, i loaded firmware to overwrite my own presets with factory ones (i have backup of my presets as syx files anyway). then i checked with bc manager if the overwrite was successful and it was. but it didn't help fix the problem. i also reloaded some of my presets back today but no good. all the buttons and encoders respond, but not the way they are meant to be. for instance the 8 encoders at the very bottom row: when i move any of the encoders 2 through 8, an extra led appears around encoder 1, mimicking the movement of the other (2...7) encoder's led. same for other rows too, the leftmost knob led mimics the leds of other knobs on the same row.
maybe i should try to open it up and see if anything seems weird :l
