Just thought i'd chime in here, as i've been watching this conversation with some interest. I cannot speak for anyone else, but i know i'd be more inclined to purchase a smaller set of overlays -- maybe 5 for $25 if we could still secure such a price.
I don't really use my BC-2000 all that much, but i've got G.A.S. so bad that i'm currently holding onto 30+ keyboards (not counting the rackmount stuff) and i would be glad to have a handful of overlays on hand simply for the sake of completion.
(I remember hooking the BC-2000 up to my Roland JX-8P once and then to my Korg DW-8000 a few days later just to see if i could get them to communicate with each other. My tests were successful but i put the Behringer back on the shelf soon after that as i couldn't quite remember which knobs controlled what parameter without looking at some info online. Even if i never get around to using the BC-2000 again i would very much like to have a small number of overlays on hand for a rainy synth-noodling day.)
