I’ve looked into this as much as I can and all of the posts in the group don’t have answers on this topic, nor is there anything I could find online about this.
My BCR2000 recently developed this issue where in its 4th colum of encoders and buttons they have developed this “ghosting” effect where the encoder/button will show the state of other encoders/buttons in its row. For example, if I were to turn an encoder in colum one row one, it would light up normally on that encoder that I turned, but it it would also light up the encoder in colum four row one, but with dimmer LEDs.
I’ve taken my BCR fully apart in search of an issue and found nothing. I’ve reseated connectors, visually inspected it for any issues, tested the ribbon connectors with a multimeter, cleaned the boards like crazy with some PCB cleaner, I even resoldered some of the connections to the board for the ribbon cable just to make sure the joints weren’t dry and I’ve come up with nothing. I have no idea what’s wrong.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

Hi again Nick. Yeah, my BCR does that too, except that column 8 does the ghosty bit. Erratic behaviour of the push encoders was what got me to take to it with the soldering iron and sorted it with a 47nf on each encoder contact to ground (the middle one). Got nowhere chasing the ghost however have seen posts on other forums re. replacing electrolytic caps on the output side of the power supply board apparently cured some probs. If you go there, the two plastic screws break easily as have some gluey shit on the nuts apparently a little nail polish remover dabbed on with a cotton bud repeatedly will soften the stuff, then carefully poke the excess off with a sharp pointy tool and give it a little time and a few more dabs gently work at it and hopefully you will get 'em off without bustin 'em. Do not replace them with metal screws or you will end up with an electric shock hazard. Haven't tried this myself instead I just put it back in it's box so I can use it and put my nose back into other things. Intend to get another BCR soon coz one just ain't got enough knobs so will naturally dabble in a little board swapping and see what it tells me
