Royce, this covers most of what I was wondering, i.e. should I chain
the BCR and BCF. As you say, I am intending to use them for entirely
different functions, so your reply makes perfect sense. I apologize if
I came off as whiny, and thanks a million!

What I have is an Echo Gina 3g, plenty of ins/outs, and I have also
wondered if the BCF shouldn't go straight into it instead of USB. But
now I'm a lot clearer (I think) on the fact that B-Controls aren't
about controlling through my MIDI interface, but controlling my
software directly. Am I near the mark?

best,
Mike.

PS the controller pedal is in the BCF controller jack - I don't have
the BCR yet and understood there are only switch jacks on it. I have
tried to get the pedal to control a VST effect thru the BCF but no
luck yet - I think I just haven't got things communicating properly yet.
