newbie. bcf 2000 please help

hi people i am new to this forum. i am a amateur musician who has set
up
a small ( a very small ) home recording. i basically do instrumentals
of
known songs and compose instrumentals of various generes at my home. i
have a p-c with m-audio audiophile 2496 now as soundcard of now. i
have
cunbase sx 3 as sequencer . i have a yamaha psr 2000 keyboard which i
have
connected with my computer and soundcard which i use to trigger midi
for
vsti and for my kontakt which i use for playing my samples. i also
record audio tracks with the preset sounds in my keyboard. i use lot
of
vsti plugins and vst fx for creation of my music. i am also seriously
thinking of adding vocals in future. i am basically frustrated using
the
mouse as controller for mixing and automation of the tracks with built
in mixer in cubase. i wanted to buy a tactile controller surface for
mixing / automation in my daw and also to control vsti/ vst fx knobs
in
software

i have ordered for bcf2000as i was verymuch impressed with it. but i
see
from various forums that there are only presets for bcr and not for
bcf.

so i wanted to ask u a few questions

does the bcf work properly with cubase sx3? are there presets
available
for it? if so where can i download them?

can i use my bcf 2000 to control the vst instruments and vst fx? if so
is there presets available for each vst? or can i find out about the
controller-numbers the plugs/vstis are working with and adjust the BCF
according to them and then save them as presets?

Which forums have you visited?

It should at least work in mackie control emulation mode.

Have you checked the Files section of this yahoo group?

Yes, at least in theory.

You'll have to figure that out on a case by case basis I'm afraid...

Yes!

Sorry not to be of more help, I'm no BCF2000 guru and the real gurus
seem to bypass the 'simple' questions.

thats almost 'natural', because the BCF has allready a Mackie Emulation built in.

but you'll find also some presets for the BCF, for example here in
/files/Presets/BCF Live MCE by Mago.rar

ok, this has been done for ableton, but with a little personalisation/finetuning you'll get it working as you want it to work.

the original 'Mackie Protokol' and the sent CCs are always the same, there are some functions/knobs that may have different functions in every DAW

if you look here (german, but i could help with that):
http://witez.blogspot.com/2007/11/cubase-41-und-behringer-bcr2000.html

if you take this preset & magos, compare them and 'fuse' them together,
than you should be able to make a nice preset that works fine for you

sure the BCF works for cubase sx ;)

in bcf mode as well as in diff. emulation modes (Mackie, Baby Hui, etc...)
look in the comments there:
http://keyboards-midi.musiciansfriend.com/product/Behringer-BCF2000-BControl-Fader?sku=701763

also there (again, german):

in principle yes, but as you dont have that much rotarys as you could need,
maybe think about using BCF for the Cubase Mixer,
and an additional 'Novation Nocturn' as dedicated plugin controller (you get that new for 99€, well worth its money)... that one is really a great addon to any other (main) controller,
and because of novations 'automap' software it does a great job with plugins

if so

no, for some plugs you'll have to do some work on your own, but its really easy

or can i find out about the

you should still be able to create custom presets for almost any plugin as long as the plug is controllable with MIDI (even if not, you could add mGui wrapper to that plug)
so a clear yes...
