Mackie emulation problem.

2008-11-04 by dennibardenhagen

Hi there everyone! When I use my BCF2000 in the Mackie emulation mode
with Cubase LE4,the transport buttons(play, stop, back to zero etc)
sound notes in the NI Kore player plug in.Is there any way I can avoid
this.Apart from this problem,I am very happy so far with the
BCF2000.Thanks.Dennis.

Hello!

the Mackie protocol uses note on/note off messages for buttons - if
you route BCF midi out to a midi track (on top of routing it to the
Mackie MCU in Cubase device panel), you'll ear the notes...

i guess you plugged a keyboard into the BCF?

:)

For your midi tracks, do not choose "All midi inputs" as input but choose
your midi input device (probably a midi keyboard) or the midi input it is
connected to. As an alternative you may "unload" the BCF midi port from the
midi input devices in the midi devices menu of cubase. I use Cubase 4, so I
don't know if it is exactly the same menus in LE4.

Cheers.

At least in SX3 you can exclude your BCF2000 from the "All MIDI
inputs" list in the device menu, so it would not interfere anymore
with the other input devices, which you are using.
