CAN I...?

CAN I...?

2008-11-09 by guidoronconi

Hello
I've just bought both bcf and bcr.
First I have to ask please someone tell me wich buttons I have to
touch to start the units in, lets say Mackie emulation...
And I was thinking:
to anyone who would like o help me save some time
Can I hook BCF usb to use it to control my main Daw (Nuendo 3) and
ALSO BCR's usb to control virtual instruments, or plugins, or rewired
reason for example at the same time??
If not
Can anybody tell me how do I exactly do to hook them together?
Well that is just the first two doubts on how to use this
Thanks
gÜido

Only the BCF
From the Behringer web site
http://www.behringerdownload.de/BCF2000/BCF2000_Emulation_modes.pdf
This should explain everything

Yes, well certainly in Sonar at least.
When you hook them up to the PC and when they are in one of the USB modes (see the manual about modes) they appear as new Midi Interfaces to the software
My guess is you need to set up Nuendo 3 to see the BC Midi Interfaces as Control surfaces .

Hope this helps

Welcome on board! there's a pdf you can download from the behringer
website which explains how to use the BCF in emulation modes - to
select which emulation mode, you should keep pressed one of the buttons
of the first row when switching it on (if i remember correclty, the
buttons to be pressed are the first five from the left - one of them
selects Mackie MCU emulation)...

Thank you both. Forgot that pdf. I'm trying it now
Could it be possible that when I'm in Nuendo with MC m all my faders, even though they move Nuendo's faders, they go back all the way down as soon as I leave them?
BCF's faders even work for writing automation but they don´t follow Nuendo's faders after, reading it....
Maybe I'm not paying full attention to what I'm doing...

--Also, about that dual USB connection (BCF 1 usb port-BCR another). Should I try it? Maybe that way I can even use my Fatar to control som Virtual Instruments and another to control some reason note playing too.
I'm trying to build some live set to make my music here.

And other questions, stupid lazy me...

--If I do the Usb to BCF and then Midi BCR, I should put 2 midi cables, shouldn't I?...

--when I use reason, what mode should I use? (it works very good without selecting any but...)

--Why huskerview doesn't feed me back in reason? is it because it is intended for mackie emulations?

--Do you know wich comand should I use to go from one device to another in reason without toching the mouse..?

Thanks again
THANK YOU VERY VERY MUCH
Where are you from guys?
I should pay you a good argentinean barbq for the help!
MAybe some wine too

Hello again..

About thet "dual" USB conections:

I also own a firewire sound card that has a midi interface; maybe I
could midi some of the things I'm using (2 midi keyboards (they don't
have a lot of controllers but I use the mod wheel a lot), then BCF and
BCR) through it. Or maybe it doesn't work that way...

Ok see you!

I use the BCF in Mackie mode with USB so I have to turn it on before I
boot my sequencer program. The BCR I use a legacy midi port so I can
turn it on when I need it to do some automation and it doesn't have to
stay on all the time. That works out because I want the faders to do a
mixdown and that would be a dedicated session.
