Mark can the Encoder group buttons send messages AND select the group?

Mark can the Encoder group buttons send messages AND select the group?

2008-12-14 by k5kip_1999

Mark,

Good day Sir!

BTW the count is up to 418!

I, obviously am back at this preset!

So - can the encoder groups buttons, while still switching groups also
send messages?
They don't seem to for me, I was just wondering, I might be able to
reduce the button pushes by one, if I can move the plugins button to
one of the encoder group select buttons.
In BCmanager, they are assignable, but when I assign they don't seem
to do anything in addition to changing the encoder group.

Thanks,

Kip

The short answer is "No".

The long answer: it's one or the other - that's why in BC Manager (as
of version 1.5.1) the "BCF2000" and "BCR2000" windows show an encoder
group button in pink whenever the preset's "Encoder groups" setting
(1-4) causes that encoder group button to be necessary for encoder
group switching, disabling its "normal button" function of sending
messages.

Ah! Last time I looked (last week I think) it was about 350, so the
rate must have picked up a bit - apparently these things go
non-linearly...

BTW, I'm currently following an old suggestion of yours: I'm building
my own website at 110mb.com. At the moment there is only a dummy
homepage, but hopefully it won't be long until I can publish BC
Manager version 1.6.0 there.

Mark.

That is about what I figured, pretty steep price to give up 8 rotary encoders and a buttons for 1 button!

Nice!
I have found that the site is up and down sometimes.
Probably not much more than others, but hey free with no ads!
Plenty of space too!
The only real issues are with the free account, no mysql or other fancy stuff.
I found some .php scripts to do my counting thingy.
Let me know if you want them.
I would still be happy to host a mirror if you like.
Are you doing some "other" better vids?

Can you put any number or other spec on that? Are they always down at
a specific time of day or so?

In a sense, 110mb.com being sometimes down COULD become a kind of
problem, if I indeed remove BC Manager from the Yahoo group and only
offer it via 110mb.com. (The reason I may want to do remove it from
the Yahoo group, is that there is no way of knowing the number of
downloads via the Yahoo group - apart from the number of group
members, of course.)

Yes please (for the reason I gave above)!

> Are you doing some "other" better vids?

Not right now. At the moment I'm working VERY hard at BC Manager 1.6.0
itself (plus the manual); I'm also making some progress with a
pdf-document on USB connections.

> I would still be happy to host a mirror if you like.

Generally speaking it seems pointless to have two download sites both
at 110mb.com, since they presumably would tend to be down TOGETHER.
(So presumably we could simply make mutual links to each other's web
sites.)

But before we start selling the chicken [is that the correct
expression - I'm sure it's not...]: as you can gather from the above,
everything is still uncertain: first I'll have to learn from scratch
how to create web pages (honestly!), then finish BC Manager 1.6.0 and
manage to upload it and link it to my web page. I'm hoping to do all
this before the end of the year, but I'm not sure I'll succeed - I may
end up abandoning my website at 110mb.com and simply keeping the
current arrangement - so stay tuned...

BTW: what web page making software can you (or anyone else) recommend?
I saw that one of your pages at shoshin.110mb.com was created with
PageBreeze, so I've downloaded that, but haven't had time to look at
it yet.

Mark.

What box are you on on 110mb?
My account is on box(server)12.
The entire server for 110mb does not go down, ever???
However, in my experience the last year or so it was down a few times,
may 3 never for more than a day or two and only box 12 was down.
Sometimes other boxes go down, from what I have read on the forum it
is no more than you would expect from any other server.
They have to maintain it sometimes and things do go bad.
I don't know how many boxes there are?

If we are on separate boxes, I can mirror your downloads.
One of our sites will be up.
I would keep the count page I currently have for you, so you could
still maintain statistics.
This for me is no problem, since it is already up and running.
So which box are you on?
Perhaps we should move this to email since it is slightly off topic.

Mark,

Actually my site was initially created with pagebreeze, however, I
redid it with dreamweaver and need to find references to pagebreeze
and remove them. What page did you see that on?

Here is a rundown of some free html editors.

http://www.techsupportalert.com/best-free-html-editor.htm

I have used nvu and pagebreeze.

Guys I think you will be better off using a Wordpress theme you like
and simply replace the images!
