bank change bonkers in Logic 7.2

bank change bonkers in Logic 7.2

2006-06-18 by painjunkie23

Howdy. I'm using my BCF2000 with Logic 7.2 set up in Logic Control emulation.

First off, I find the modes very confusing, so I've tried to disable a lot of the buttons in
Logic - in order to make the whole thing very simple. This sort of works, but
occassionally I get stuck in a strange mode and can't get out.

One of the most frustrating things is the bank select buttons. I should be able to page up
and down the list of tracks in my arrange window. But the thing jumps 18 tracks! not 8.

In the Logic set up window for the controller, there looks like a parameter to offset this,
but you can't actually change the value and have it stick. I can see the value change from
0 to 18 when I hit the bank up and downn buttons.

I tried to use Logic's parameter settings to over-ride this, but it did not work either.

Has anyone had this problem?
Why would it send a bank change of 18, when it only has 8 faders?

Scott.

I'm responding to my own message with a solution!

I thought I had tried everything, and then I turfed the control surface preferences.
I am not used to the way OSX has a library and preferences in more than one place, under
system, and under user - so I thought I was turfing a preference, but there was another
one. Once I got the preferences turfed, I re-installed the control surface and voila - bank
changes were in 8's instead of 18's. Not sure how that ever got set to 18, but who cares.

I just hope turfing the preferences lasts as a solution.

Scott.
