Automation rewrite problem?

Automation rewrite problem?

2009-02-05 by shamdyl

Hi, I'm thinking about buying BCF2000 but since it's not a touch
sensitive fader, people are having issues with rewriting automation on
their tracks.

Is there a workaround for this issue so you don't need to fight the
fader when rewriting automation? I read you can either turn off the
motor (which is not to intuitive because you want the fader to be in
the current position before rewriting) or setup a button that sends
"fader touched" CC to mimic the action.

Thanks.

I don't quite understand what you mean by "fader touched CC ...", but
in any case you can link a button to a fader (or faders), so that
while you're pressing the button, the fader(s)' motor(s) don't work -
although I'm not sure whether you would find that workable.
See "BC MIDI Implementation.pdf" (available from
http://mntn-utils.110mb.com), sections 16.2-4 for more details.

Mark.

I think, he's talking of a button, that sends the same value as a
sensitive fader, which is touched...
