how to activate VST like a mouse

how to activate VST like a mouse

2009-02-09 by nedaggg

When I use generic remote in cubase , and there are some kind of display on the vst gui , the changes I make on my BCR aren't displayed in real time monitoring . When I tweak parameters directly on the gui , with the mouse, I can see the changes reflected on the gui .I mean if the display is showing parameter x when I mouse touch it starts to display parameter b . How can I "activate" this parameter display when tweaking from bcr knob ? Some vst "light up" the knob when you touch it with mouse ... Is it posible to achieve this ?

How to make BCR activate a vst GUI like a mouse ????

Any hints ??? When I tweak a knob on BCR the parameter value change , but the parameter is not "activated" and I can't see the value changing on the GUI the same way as if I tweak the parameter with the mouse ...

How can I fix that ?

Well, if I move a hardware knob on my BCR, I can see the equivalent
software knob on the plugin's GUI moving, too.

Or did I misunderstood you?

Hi

some vst have only one display that shows parameters value , if you mouse touch the knob on the gui that's ok , the display changes and the parameter value and name appears on this display . With BCR , despite the knob/value changes , the display goes to a blank .For example karma delay ,karma reverb ( good free vst)

Another issue , how to change pages ? Some synths have pages and I don't find a way to change pages with BCR or generic remote !!! That's annoying ... Example crystal (good free synth)

I think both this issues are the same nature how to make BCR act like a mouse ... Should the VST have a especific CC to do that ???

Thanks !!!

Hi,

you could use a software like "Bome's MIDI Translator" and build a
script, that transforms the incoming MIDI CC from an encoder to a
diagonal or vertical (depending on your plugins) mouse movement.
Et voil\ufffd, you've got a similar thing like the Novation Nocturn's
"SpeedDial" or the Steinberg CC 121's "AI knob": A dial, that controls
the parameter directly under the mouse arrow.
