Preset switching question

Preset switching question

2009-02-27 by slick_spaids

I have my BCF running in protools. The only way I know how to switch
the selected tracks for control is using the preset left and right
arrows. My trouble is sometimes I want a certain 8 tracks selected and
they don't line up in an increment of 8 from the left. ideas?

PS Where do I learn more about this unit?

I don't know Pro Tools, but in what mode are you using the BCF? In an
emulation mode or in standard "B-Control" mode? In the latter case, it
is in principle possible to set up your BCF in any way you like,
unless Protools "takes control" of the BCF, in which things can be
very tricky.

Hopefully I'll be able to publish a general BCF/BCR-related FAQ
document in about a week or two - although I'm not sure to what extent
that will help you with your specific problem.

Mark.

Thanks Mark. In protools it seems that I have to use bhui mode.
This makes most of it work right off the bat so thats cool. It would
be nice to understand how to set this up myself though if its
possible. Also the little window display programs don't seem to work
in bhui. bummer. How the heck do you guys learn this stuff!

Thanks again
Waid

I use Cubase with the BCF in Mackie emulation mode. The tracks in the
mixer left to right are in the order they appear in the project top to
bottom.

I use workspaces (screenshots in sonar) to have different mixer
configurations as far as what tracks are shown, not the order.
I can have different tracks setup on different screens and I can jump
to them and the BCF jumps to the new setting, nice.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
