How to Update Firmware from a Mac?

How to Update Firmware from a Mac?

2007-03-18 by pzlonvent

So, is there anyway to update the firmware to a BCR2000 in my case from OSX?
The intructions seem to be windows only, and my google searches only find
others frustrated by this.
thanks for any help!
best,
phil

if i recall what i read, you can do it using a midi dump
you'd have to go and find the midi file on behringer's website, then play it through your midi
interface into the bcf
another, easyer solution is to connect your behringer to a pc momentarely and use the small
soft to send it via usb
good luck
mine is still a virgin, never rode a volume!

There's a nifty utility called SysEx Librarian that's perfect for midi dumps, its alot easier
than updating with a garden variety sequencer, that's how i updated mine and it worked
fine, just do a google on SysEx Librarian and you'll find it easily enough.

thanks, that's what I originally tried, but no luck. Do you have to put the
BCR/BCF in a special mode to receive it? that's what I was looking for.

best,
phil

Just make sure that the sysex midi channels match. Check your
Behringer manual, whether you have set up the BC* correctly for sysex
transfer.

Another check is to send a sys dump from the BC* to SysEx Librarian,
and look at the data or use a midi monitoring tool. In particular,
check the midi channel.

Really, it is easy with SysEx Librarian. I also use it, as the tools
by Behringer do not work for the Mac.
