mapping in ableton

2012-05-31 by brizzo83

Hi,

Can anyone tell me how I could map my bcr2000 to things in ableton like the crossfader, master volume, tempo etc using the edit option or by writing a preset ( I have absolutely no idea how to do this so any help on that would be appreciated) I know that the factory preset automatically maps the bottom row of encoders to volume & the second & third rows to sends a & b. I'd like to use the 6th & 7th encoders in all three rows to use as I wish.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

Kevin

In the main window of live in the top right corner is a little box that says "midi". Click on that and everything you can map will turn blue. Just click on the control you want and turn the knob that you want mapped to it and it'll be done. Click on "midi" again when you're done.

Hope that helps.

I know how to do the midi mapping, I should have explained better, sorry. I'd like to make a preset on my bcr2000 so that the mappings will always be there no matter when I open ableton, or if i'm opening different sets, it will always have the crossfader, tempo etc mapped to those encoders, do you know what I mean?

Oh, sorry. I'd like to know how to do that as well. My solution was to build a template that had all my mapping and use that for every new set.

The good news is there are a lot of people on here that are WAY smarter than me. Hopefully, they can help. I'll be reading along too.

Yeah, there are a few of us dotted around.
I'm from New York myself but my family is from Wexford.

Hope you get the answer you are looking for,
