overwriting the store/learn/edit buttons

overwriting the store/learn/edit buttons

2005-10-24 by superscience

I've seen around that you can overwrite the function buttons on the
BCR-2000. I'm wondering if this can be done on a per preset basis.
As in, if I use those for sending CCs in preset 10, will they still
operate as function buttons in preset 11 and others? I'm too chicken
to just do it.

Thanks,
Will

Hi Will:

The B-Control's ability to have it's function buttons (e.g. EDIT, LEARN,
PRESET, etc.) overwritten is indeed preset-specific. For example, you could
have a "Preset 01" in the BCR2000 set up with its normal/typical
functionality:

EDIT = Edit Function (as silk-screened on the unit)

Additionally, you could also have a "Preset 02" on the same BCR2000 set up
with a custom message type (program change, midi cc, midi note command)
assigned to this same EDIT button, instead of the typical edit functionality
described in the owner's manual.

Overwriting these functions on the BCR is accomplished via the BC EDIT
software, and is described in detail in the documentation that accompanies
this free download on our website:

http://www.behringer.com/05_support/bc_download/bc_downloads.cfm?lang=ENG

Hint: When clicking on the "presets" page of the EDITOR section of the BC
EDIT software, the "Lock Preset" option would need to be disengaged in order
to overwrite the factory functionality of the control parameters mentioned
above.

I hope this information helps!
