Script editor (sysex generator)

Script editor (sysex generator)

2007-05-05 by rpcfender

I have loaded the program into the files area.
Please note that it was just a simple program so I could change all
the parameters on my BCR2000.
It has only been checked on a BCR200
It has only been run on XP
Feel free to let me know if there are bugs and I'll try to fix them.
Feel free to suggest changes and if I have time I'll look at it.
There are a few Rich Text Format (RTF) files that are loaded into the
editor at run time so all the information is in one place. I have kept
these seperate so they can be edited and downloaded without having to
download the editor as well.
You can edit the files in WORD or OpenOffice Write. Feel free to
improve on my quick attempt at this information and let me know if
you are able to add anything to this, especially if you speak
German and can translate the docs at
http://www.sequencer.de/synth/index.php/B-Control-Tokenreferenz
http://www.sequencer.de/synth/index.php/B-Control-Konfiguration

The editor should be free standing and so to install you just
download, create a directory and unzip all the files (including the
RTF ones)to that directory and run the BCReditor.exe file.
I hope it is useful to someone.
All the best
Royce

I have just discovered another bug but this time with Behringer's driver.
The Editor works when the Computer is connected via MIDI port but
fails (Er22 - incorrect counter) when connected via USB.
I'll notify Behringer, but I haven't heard back about the other sysex
dump bug.

So to get around the problem just press and hold EDIT then press STORE
to drop into Global edit mode press the top left encoder and wind it
to S-1 in the display and try that.

More little bugs to drive me nuts.

The problem this time was the BCR USB port is much slower than the
MIDI connection on the back of the BCR.
With MidiOx I could send a large syex file to the BCR with only 1ms
between messages via the MIDI port (my interface is a Midiman
MidiPort4 - USB).
The USB needs at least 9ms. I set it at 10ms and it seems to be stable.
So I slowed down the transfer in my program and everything seems to be
OK on my BCR (version 1.10 firmwar in the BCR - check when you turn it
on) with the latest USB driver 1.1.1.0

I am hoping this is the end of this, but if you have trouble on your
machine let me know.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
