BC Manager 2.4.0 released!

BC Manager 2.4.0 released!

2012-08-23 by Mark v.d. Berg

Hi everyone,

BC Manager 2.4.0 is now available from the Mountain Utilities web site:
http://home.kpn.nl/f2hmjvandenberg281/

New in this version:

Internal data changes:
- When sending a Global Setup to a BCF/BCR2000, the Device ID is no longer included. (This avoids mid-stream connection loss.)
- In SysEx files containing BCL data, the 'generic' device ID ($7F) is stored.
- Support for Reason 6.5.1's map files for the BCF/BCR2000.

SysEx model definition files:
- ManufacturerID can now consist of multiple bytes.
- Seven SysEx model definition files for the Elektron Machinedrum, written by Bob Svitilla. Many thanks to Bob!

Improvements to the GUI:
- Windows that were open when the previous session of BC Manager terminated reappear exactly where they were.
- The 'Test hardware' dialog box is more informative.
- The 'Insert SysEx parameter' dialog box displays a definition file's Comment field as a scrollable, word-wrapping multi-line text box.

Peripheral MIDI utilities:
- Completely new: the 'MIDI program changer' window: this allows you to send MIDI Program Change messages prefixed by Bank Select MSB/LSB messages, in any combination. (This can be useful for troubleshooting synths that seem 'unwilling' to change programs.)
- In the MIDI keyboard window, a note's loudness is determined by the mouse position.

Enjoy!

Mark van den Berg.

That's great! Too bad I didn't make it to have the SY77 model
definition file included...

Maybe in the next version then - which may appear next week (if someone finds a bug) or next year...

Until then, I'd be happy to offer your ini file(s) (or anybody else's) from my website, for the benefit of people who don't want to become members of this group.

Mark.

Sure thing, I only have to apply the patch from Royce for -7/7 value
range. I will send you the file when I'm home (on holidays now).
