Sending SysEx

Sending SysEx

2012-10-21 by Thomas

Hello,

I'm new to the group and interested to know if the BCR2000 has the capability to send short SysEx messages when knobs are turned. I have several legacy synthesizers (Oberheim Matrix 1000, Kawai K3M, Kawai K4R, etc.) that can be edited in real-time via SysEx, but NOT by continuous controller messages.

A cursory look on the message board leads me to believe that this is possible, but that I need a third-party (open source) utility to edit a BCR2000 configuration file.

I think that Matrix 1000 has already some templates in the Files section.

You can use BC Manager
(http://home.kpn.nl/f2hmjvandenberg281/bcman.html) or BCn2000 Script
Editor (available in Files section). I haven't used the Script Editor,
but both programs offer you GREAT flexibility and detailed
documentation. Technically they are not Open Source, though.

Cheers,

Bruno

Bruno,
Wow, I'm blown away, it looks as though there are already templates for many if not all of my synths: Casio CZ-101, Yamaha DX7, Kawai K3M, Kawai K4R, Kawai K5000, Matrix 1000 Etc,.
