"Enable Auto Select" in Nuendo/Cubase

"Enable Auto Select" in Nuendo/Cubase

2007-05-30 by Kevin Richard

I was wondering if you could have it when you touched a knob on the
BCR that it would "select" that channel and make it active. The
preset I'm using from the files section (Dave 40 Vols) has a button
that activates the expanded track veiw (with eq and such) for
whatever channel is active, so I just need to know how to make it
jump to that active track.

I want to set up Solos and Mutes on the active channel once I get
this sorted, but that should be fairly simple.

Sorta OT, I noticed in bcfredit that you can tweak the "store",
"edit" and such controls... can you over ride their function to get
an extra few buttons?

its been a while, but i don't know if there was a dedicated track
select function available on the BCR... i think the 40 Vols preset
was just me trying to graft some of the Staffi preset onto a big mixer

i'm sure it can be done... there are Track Up/Down buttons in the
original Staffi preset on the lower right buttons; you may want to
just copy those settings using the editor

i think i had originally assigned those to the transport, but i use
the num pad on my keyboard almost exclusively for that

actually, now that i've checked, i grafted the EQ sections from
ToneMill's cubase_sx_24_plus.xml onto a big mixer

his uses the lower two right buttons to Bank Up/Down

don't know if its possible to auto-select with BCR... i think the
FaderPort from Frontier Designs does... it might be possible to check
its command sequence to see if there's a way

if i figure it out, i'll try posting it here

Cool, I'm very new to this stuff so some of it is over my head at the
moment... I'm sure I'll figure it out (this head cold I have isn't
helping right now either!)

Yeah, I don't really know what your buttons do down there except
bring up the mixer (top right) and the expanded track section (top
left?)

Well, off to bed again :(
