quirky issue with bcr controlling an roland alpa juno 1

2012-12-22 by burk1211

i've had a bcr for a week, and i have it up and running simultaneously as a controller for an alpha juno 1 and ableton.

it's working great, except when certain things are done in ableton (such as opening the program, a new live set, or closing edit midi map view) something happens to the juno where the volume goes way down, kind of like pressing the ATT button on a car stereo.

i've discovered that if i go to the FOOT CNT parameter under the TUNE/FUNCTION button and change the setting, this solves the problem. which leads me to think the juno is somehow interpreting a midi message from the computer to mean that FOOT CNT is being controlled by the computer.

does anyone have any ideas on how to get the juno to not interpret the midi message this way?

thanks,

jon
