Resolume question

Resolume question

2007-06-12 by ottoherrero

Hello everybody. This is my first post here, in BCR group.
I'm actually using Resolume for vjing. I use it with a laptop and the
BCR (they're connected via USB), but I've a question.
My partner uses FuityLoops or AbletonLive to make the music, and he
has a MidiSport2x2 to control the synth and the sequencer.
Can he sent me the MIDI tempo to the BCR via MIDI?
I'd like to take the MIDI tempo sent via MIDISport and use it for
tapping the Resolume. Do you understand?
Thanx for the patience!

I Don't Know What's Resolume, But The BCR Has Nothing To Do With The Clock. If You Use It As An Interface, Then Yes, It Will Receive The Midi Information (including MMC) You Send To It, And It Will Transmit It To Your Host Software.

Live will put out MIDI sync (Midi Song pointer or Midi Time Code MTC)
through the Midisport2x2 (I have a 4x4 and it works OK)

Not quite sure what you are asking here.
You can make either Live or your Resolume system (I assume) the slave
and the other the master . That's how Midi sync works.

Lets say that Live is the Master. If you want to vary the tempo during
performance, any change to the Live tempo will make your vj system
change tempo too.
Simply, Live is the conductor (basically it sends out a stream of Midi
"pulses") and your system is the band.
Live will allow you to tap a tempo in and you could use the BCR for
that. Either like a count in, or during the piece.

Are you asking if you can use the BCR as a MIDI interface? can MIDI clock or time code info coming from an outside source be routed into your computer via the BCR? I'm pretty sure that the answer is yes. I haven't tried it yet. (i'm still testing/setting up my BCF and am currentlly using it only in USB mode.) try putting it in U2 or U3 mode.
