can not set my bcr in mackie emulation mode

can not set my bcr in mackie emulation mode

2013-07-14 by franq87

Hi all,

I'm having problems with my bcr2000 to set it in mackie emulation mode. As the manual says, to put in mackie mode I have to set the bcr in u-1 mode and the turn off the controller and press one of the four buttons at the bottom of the first rows of the encoders.

Well, I made this, but it never sets in mackie mode, but if I press the first one, on the screen of the bcr appears Bc, so the normal behringer controller mode works... why not the others mode?

cheers, franq

Because the BCR2000 doesn't HAVE Mackie emulation modes: only the BCF2000 does.

But you're right that the BCR says "bC" when you keep the first button pressed while powering on, which is curious, given that it has no other modes.

Mark.

maybe I am wrong but if there isn't a mackie emulation on the bcr2000, maybe what those guys have done is to load a sysex file that "emulates" that mackie emulation?

Indeed.
In fact, the emulation these links discuss works via standard BCR presets.
And presets on both the BCF and the BCR can only be accessed in standard B-Control ("bC") mode - in fact, on the BCR this is the ONLY mode.
So the particular BCR presets mentioned in these links provide "software" Mackie emulation, in contrast to the BCF's in-built Mackie emulation, which is provided by the BCF's firmware (vs. 1.06 and later).
Actually I have never quite understood why Mackie emulation wasn't added to the BCR's firmware too.

Mark.
