bcr2000 encoder used as a jogwheel iin cubase (generic remote)

Does anyone know how to turn an encoder to a jogwheel to be used in generic remote mode in cubase 9? (The specific settings I have to put into the encoder in BCR manager). So far I have succeeded in using a "volume" encoder and then selecting nudgeup in cubase and the transport only goes to the right of course, no matter which way I turn the encoder. The jog and shuttle option in gen.remote doesn't do anything at all.
