CGS and dot com formats etc

2005-03-22 by bambam4236

HI All

I finally have started building a dot com modular and have just
received my first parts. i had a few questions for some of you that
may have put CGS modules into this format. I have ordered 2 blank
double width panels from .com and plan on using them to begin with
for a steiner filter and then a 6 in 1 bandpass filter. I was
wondering if any of you had used the Lazertran paper and Quick Laser
that i have read about here for printing the legends and how you
found it to use? or if you knwo a better option? im not swimming in
cash but would like some of my cgs modules to have the .com look so
getting a company to do one at a time would be expensive....others
will be getting more interesting finishes so i dont have a heap to
do in this format.

Also i was wondering do you just use metal posts and screw through
the front of the panel to mount your cgs boards? (ok i know things
liek the bandpass is pot mounted but the steiner etc isn't)
The only other thing i wanted to ask about is power connections, as
part of my .com i have a nice big PS here now and am thinking one of
these http://www.synthtech.com/motma.html from MOTM is the best
answer....as far as i can tell CGS all have the same connectors as
MOTM?

i've serached the messages to find some of my answers but hope im
not rehashing all of this.

thanks
Brett
