Re: Source for 4000 series chips for Digital Noise Source?

2005-03-24 by Scott Stites

(I'm assuming you're in the US).

The 4006 is available at a lot of the surplus electronics pages. One that comes to mind is Hosfelt Electronics:

www.hosfelt.com

Good people, and the 4006 is much less than $0.30 each.

Cheers,
Scott

Subject: [cgs_synth] Source for 4000 series chips for Digital Noise Source?

Okay, this is slightly frustrating. After planning a module based on the CGS
Digital Noise source and a homebrew sample & hold, ordering the PCB from
Ken, ordering a custom panel from Front Panel Express, I discover that the
4006 shift register has been discontinued. None of my usual suppliers
(Mouser, Digikey, Allied) carry it, and I'm not yet sure that they carry the
other 4000 series chips. Anyone have any good sources for these?

Thanks--
