Bi-N-Tic Filter

2005-04-25 by charlesosthelder

Now this is COOL!!!

Two multiplexers for very steep slopes and a real vco for control! I
can't wait to see this pcb in the mail!

Most switched capacitor filters utilize a single 4051, clocked by a
4046 VCO with a 4024 or 4040 divder. These are pretty popular for
audio filtering in amateur radio. A circuit like the Bi-N-Tic would
be way too extreme, however. In synthesis, extreme = fun!

One question, Ken - the 4051 pin #8 is usually at 0V for a signal
swing from Vdd - Vee. In some cases, both pins 7 and 8 are at 0v.
Why did you use this bias arrangement with both #7 and #8 at the -
7vdc? I'm sure your reasoning is sound, I just want to learn.

Thanks!
