It may work. It looks like they are using the 13700 as a voltage controlled
resistor. There are a couple of different versions in the 13700 datasheet.
Nyle sketched up an improved resonance control which I will investigate.
This one has the resonance pot going to ground, so maybe a FET or a 4049
could be used instead.
Don't forget, the good old vactrol can always be used too.
