Cooling. The holes are directly below a pair of dropper resistors. Overkill
really, but I've seen enough singed PCBs in my time to know to add
ventilation when it may be needed.

By using the inhibit input, it would be possible to switch between several,
but as this is a switch rather than a full blown sequencer, you may find you
don't get exactly what you expect.

Alternatively, you could run several in parallel, using the reset line to
make sure they started in sync, then use another sequencial switch to select
which of the other sequencers you were using the output from. 64 steps this way.
