Sequential Switch Question

Sequential Switch Question

2003-06-16 by elle_webb

Near the power connector, there is a cloverleaf group of holes in the
pcb. What's that for?

Also, is it possible to add additional boards to generate longer
sequences?

Cooling. The holes are directly below a pair of dropper resistors. Overkill
really, but I've seen enough singed PCBs in my time to know to add
ventilation when it may be needed.

By using the inhibit input, it would be possible to switch between several,
but as this is a switch rather than a full blown sequencer, you may find you
don't get exactly what you expect.

Alternatively, you could run several in parallel, using the reset line to
make sure they started in sync, then use another sequencial switch to select
which of the other sequencers you were using the output from. 64 steps this way.

That's what I was wondering - but I was thinking just 4 x 8. One
could normalize the first clock jack input to each of the slave
boards, so you'd have 4 rows synched by default, but that could be
overridden.

P1 could advance the 5th switch that selects from the outputs of the
4 rows. The row outputs could also be available separately, so you
could run it as 4 completely independent switches or in various
combinations.

I'll need to think on this one a while and figure out panel (s) and
wiring.

Thanks for the suggestions!
