Re: run util lfo at audio freq

2012-11-08 by Richarius Molindarius

Using a pair of them for a 'drone' could work out quite well. I've
almost completed a noise machine here, based on 4 x Voltage Controlled
Low Frequency Oscillators. Each of them, has the ability to modulate
2 of the other ones. (It's all hardwired, with attenuators for each
modulation input.)
The other day, when I set the 4 x VCLFOs to the same frequency and
just let them oscillate away, the 2 of them that did not have matching
transistors with a tempco, started wandering in pitch, every slowly.
The sound that started happening was absolutely incredible as the
'beating' started changing more and more over the hour or so that it
was running.
That as 1 of it's many functions. With each of the VCLFO's outputs
being switchable between triangle or squarewave and all of their
oscillation periods being approximately 0.1hz up to beyond human
hearing for 2 of them and about 3,000hz for the other two ... the
harmonic destruction capabilities of the unit are mindbending. :D
Once I add 2 outputs to it (it has stereo speakers in it's cabinet)
I'm going to toss it up on eBay. After of course, having shot a demo
video for it to post to my youtube site.
