Wave Multipliers

Wave Multipliers

2004-12-02 by Michael

I completed the Wave Multiplier project last night, the thing is
pretty crazy sounding. I have no idea what it's supposed to sound
like but hey, it sounds cool to me. I'm gonna do a couple tweaks to
get better control, the PWM CV and the Fold CV to not sweep enough
for my taste and the Manual PW control sweeps a bit too much.
Otherwise, it's pretty freakin cool! Thanks for the great project Ken.

If you want to blow your mind. Run 3 audio signals into it.
1 in the normal spot
1 in the fold CV
1 in the offset CV

Now, turn knobs and try not to scream.

Ok, so I tweaked the circuit, I changed the 100k resistors on both
the PWM CV and the FOLD CV inputs to 33k and they now sweep the full
range - I added an 8.2k resistor in series off the wiper on the
manual PW pot because there was too much sweep on either side where
the pulse was completely silent if you know what I mean.

I've tried quite a few different patches with the thing and it's just
mind blowing. It can go from a nasty ringing bell sound to a fat
screaming PWM. Just 1 OSC sounds huge like 2 or 3 when I use the TRI
input in and out the Pulse with VC PWM and then send the saw from the
same OSC into the Grinder. Man it's huge, then throw a second osc
into the Offset CV and throw an EG on the Fold CV... Twist the Freq
and put your earplugs in... Well needless to say, I love it. If you
haven't built this circuit, run out and sell some blood if you have
to and buy the PC board! :)

It's definitely one of my faves, too! As a bonus, it's even great for putting weird bends on CV's.

Cheers,
Scott
