I have two of these. They are based on a design originally from
Electronotes and it resembles the ASM-1 VCO. If you use the MAT-02/
LM394 matched transistor pair and the TEMPCO resistor, you will get good
stability and tracking. It is a real music VCO. One of the nice things
about Ken's board is that you have a lot of choices for waveshaping and
your panel design. I did not build the waveshapers, because I was
interested mainly in the oscillator.
I bought the ASM-1(2) special components from

These include the matched transistor pair, the JFET, and the TEMPCO
resistor. They sell a set of 2. You can also get these parts from
various other suppliers.
