There's a spot for a component along the bottom edge of the VC
divider board.. below the LM358. Looks to be the right size for a .01
cap, but it's unlabeled and does not show on the schematic.
Those holes were for an "emergency" spike suppression capacitor if I found
it needed one in that part of the circuit. It ran fine without it, so you
can leave it out. The cap would have been around 10 to 20 pF if it had been
used.
