utility lfo question

utility lfo question

2006-07-24 by aetherpulse

So, I've just finished my lfo and have a few questions about it's function. The first was how to
make it go slower, but I used the search function and answered that myself. The other is this:
is the vari output supposed to be a combo of the saw and pulse rfom one lfo or one of each
mixed? Somehow on mine The speed and vari pots from bot lfos effect both vari outputs.
This is without the join and swap swicthes. Any Ideas? Or is this how it's supposed to work,
cause it kind of sounds cool in a weird way.
Thanks for any help,
Barry S.

Join connects the two LFOs together and swap varies how they are connected,
so yes, it sounds like the right thing is happening.

>But I don't have the swichtes installed on mine...

Then

a) You've got a pair of wires swapped
or
b) power supply is a bit "soggy"
or
c) other construction error
or
d) possibly I've stuffed up the diagram, though it does look right to me.

The wires all look like they should acordingto the
diagram. There's only three modules on that supply, so
it must be in my soldering. The part I can't figure
out is that all the outputs work like they should, no
interaction of the speed knobs or the waveforms. I
will go over it tomorrow with a loop and see if I can
find the problem.

Re: utility lfo question

I figured it out! That link sure is small and easy to
miss when it's a 106 degrees outside! Now what caps
would give a good slow cycle? Is it as simple as twicw
the size, twice as long?
I've been checkin out your preview on the programer.
Three questions: Are the final pcbs going to be 6"?
No way to fit that in frac rack! Will the touch
reponsive keyboard schematic in the synapse article
reprinted on cyndustries site work with it? Are you
maybe planning one of these to? When can I buy them?
(okay, four questions)
Thanks for your help,
Barry S.

Yes. It's that simple.

>Three questions: Are the final pcbs going to be 6"?

Yes, they are. Pots mounted at 1" spacing on them.

>No way to fit that in frac rack!

No.

>Will the touch

Probably.

>Are you maybe planning one of these to? When can I buy them?

Not at the moment. Actually, I did them a long time ago (blue PCB run for
any who can remember it), but it never was or will be a public release.

click on the 'modules' tab and scroll down to CGS59
i guess the PCB isn't for sale yet(?) but soon
