Hi & Welcome
Going backwards thru your questions, I don't know of any samples
online, but I can tell you it sounds good and very aggressive when
you 'rev' it up.
It is not a particularly difficult project, as tuning it is quite easy
and Ken's info page has clear pics & instructions. You will need a
+/-15V power supply to run the V8module, so why not build one of those
first...as a starting project? Ken sells a PCB for this too (CGS14)
build it with an 18VAC wall-wart, so you don't have to worry about
high voltages.
It would be worth finding a basic online guide to help you identify
components, some parts, like electrolytic capacitors and diodes can
only be placed in one way, if they are put in backwards, they don't
work or worse.
have fun
andrew
