Gate-to-trigger converter.

Gate-to-trigger converter.

2006-10-16 by brownchonald

Ken,

It's me again. I'm pretty excited that my synth is making sound now.

On to my new question:

I've been having trouble trying to figure out how to re-trigger Music
From Outer Space's ADSR. I'm using a PolyDAC as a controller, and it
has a retrigger switch, but I'm not exactly sure how to use it.

One solution I've come up with is using a CGS Gate-to-Trigger
converter. I would run the gate signal from the PolyDAC into a
multiple (or a cv splitter?). I would have one gate signal go to the
ADSR's gate input, and then the other gate signal go to the
Gate-to-Trigger converter, then to the trigger input on the ADSR.

Would this work? It seems like it would. But I'm not sure if there
are any clashes with who uses what level voltages, etc...

Hi Cole,

I doubt you'e need the converter there. Just run the second gate signal
straight into the trigger input.

Ken,

I just tried this. I ran the gate signal to the gate input and
trigger input of the ADSR. It still is not retriggering the envelope
like it should. I need to completely let go of each key to have the
envelope restart.

I will check and see if I wired the trigger input incorrectly.

And... the PolyDAC has the retrigger switch on.

Hrmmm,
